Common questions
What people ask before applying.
Do I need restoration experience to apply?
For most field roles, no. We hire people with construction, plumbing, HVAC, or general handyman backgrounds and train them up on restoration. We'll pay for your first IICRC certification within your first 90 days. For Project Manager or Estimator roles, restoration industry experience is required.
What's the on-call rotation like?
Restoration is a 24/7 business and we rotate on-call coverage across the team. Most techs are on-call about one week per month with an on-call differential paid on top of regular pay. The owners are also in the rotation, Shelton and Nate take calls themselves regularly.
How long does it take to get certified?
IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) is a three-day course followed by an exam. We send new techs through it within their first 90 days. From there, you can stack additional certifications, Applied Structural Drying, Fire & Smoke, Mold, at your own pace. We pay for all of it.
What does a typical day look like?
No two days are the same, that's the job. Some days you're setting up drying equipment in a flooded basement. Some days you're doing daily monitoring on jobs already underway. Some days you're on demo or rebuild. You work in a crew of 2–3 most days, with a vehicle, tools, and a job list when you arrive in the morning.
Can I grow at Quality Restoration?
Yes, and we'd rather promote from within than hire from outside. The path is: Tech → Lead Tech → Project Manager or Estimator. Many of our PMs started as entry-level techs and grew with the company. We have explicit conversations about growth at every annual review.
What's the office vibe like?
Small, casual, hardworking. Two owners who know everyone, a tight crew that helps each other out, and a culture where it's okay to ask questions. We do team lunches every Friday, quarterly outings, and a real holiday party every December. Not flashy, but it's a good place to work.
